On Tuesday, September 18, 2012 Sun Products Corporation (plaintiff) launched a complaint against Procter & Gamble (defendant) for patent infringement in the U.S Court of Utah (case no. 2:12-cv-00892).

Plaintiff is in the business of manufacturing laundry detergents and household cleaning products. Defendant is in the business of manufacturing consumer goods and its products include foods, beverages, cleaning agents and personal care products.

The patent involved in this suit is US8268016 entitled Laundry treatment compositions assigned to Sun Products (source: MaxVal’s Assignment Database*). The patent was issued on September 18, 2012 and expires on September 09, 2025#.
According to the complaint, the defendant has infringed the plaintiff’s patents through sale of its product Tide Pods.
