Case Summary:
Maxim Integrated Products, a company that designs, manufactures, and sells analog and mixed-signal semiconductor products sued Walmart, a corporation that runs chains of large discount department stores and warehouse stores. The lawsuit concerned infringement of four US patents that are currently assigned[i] to Maxim (source: MaxVal’s Assignment Database). The patents in question are:

The patents describe a system for communicating data securely. The complaint alleged that Walmart infringed one or more claims of the patents literally or under the doctrine of equivalents, by manufacturing products, devices, systems, and/or components of systems that embody the patented invention including Walmart smartphone applications.
A joint stipulated motion for dismissal with prejudice of claims was filed by Maxim and Walmart.  Based upon the stipulation of dismissal, the Court ordered all claims brought by Maxim against Walmart and all counterclaims brought by Walmart against Maxim as dismissed with prejudice, with each party bearing its own costs, expenses and attorneys' fees.
