As per the complaint, MMR is the owner of the above seven issued patents covering innovations regarding PI-IRs and the electronic exchange of medical records.

The Parties:
MyMedicalRecords  provides multilingual personal health records (PHRs) and electronic safe deposit box storage solutions, serving consumers, healthcare professionals, employers, insurance companies, financial institutions, professional organizations and affinity groups.

The My Medical Records PHR enables individuals and families to safely maintain their medical records and other important documents, such as birth certificates, passports, insurance policies and wills, in one central location and instantly access them anytime from anywhere in the world using the Internet.

Walgreens together with its subsidiaries operates a network of drugstores in the United States. It provides consumer goods and services, pharmacy, and health and wellness services through drugstores, as well as through mail, and by telephone and online. The company sells prescription and non-prescription drugs; and general merchandise, including household products, convenience and fresh foods, personal care, beauty care, photofinishing, and candy products, as well as home medical equipment, contact lenses, vitamins and supplements, and other health and wellness solutions.

As in complaint:
Plaintiff alleges that defendant infringes the above patents by offering a service to customers including Manage Your Prescription Service which is claimed in the above patents. The customers can access and manage their personal health records such as prescriptions. This service can be accessed through its website and various other means including internet and mobile applications. Walgreens allows customers to create on-line account compliant with a user name and password associated with the customer. The account is used to maintain and manage prescription information, including the type of prescription, prescription number, prescribed date, number of refills and notifications when those refills become available. This information is defined as protected health information (PHI) on Walgreens' website. A customer may add all of his or her family members to the account, including pets and manage the entire family's prescriptions from a single account. A physician or other healthcare provider that writes a prescription can send it to Walgreens for inclusion in the customer's account.
