Another Patent Troll Goes for Google



Plaintiff: Parallel Iron

Defendant: Google

A patent infringement case (1:13-cv-00367) was filed against Google by Parallel Iron on Mar 06 in the Delaware District Court. The patents involved in this suit are US7197662, US7543177 and US7958388 (Methods and systems for a storage system) and are currently assigned[i] to Parallel Iron (source: MaxVal’s Assignment Database). All these patents expire[ii] on Oct 31, 2022. 

In the complaint filed, plaintiff says that Google has violated its patents by using Google File System (GFS). GFS technology lets users store huge quantities of data on clusters of commodity servers which is claimed in the above patents.
